What makes moving stressful?

Before assessing ways to manage the stress of a move, it’s important to understand why this can be such a tough time. More than anything, the stress of a move relates back to two key things: disruption in routine, and dealing with the unfamiliar.

Collectively, humans don’t do well with change. Even though change happens slowly and over time, anything that smells of a disturbance in routine can cause some outcry.
